Good question! I was diagnosed with chronic idiopathic urticaria at age 15, although I always considered it autoimmune as it was pretty cyclical (present for a year or two then off for a few years). At age 31 I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis. I also am sure I have frequent issues with yeast-no surprise given the cocktail of immunosuppressive meds I’m on. I’m now 37 and on prednisone, weekly humara shots, and methotrexate. If I take all meds regularly, I’m ok (not great!) health wise. If I go off the methotrexate periodically to give my liver a break, the hives rear up pretty badly. I’d love to be able to heal myself, and I’m sure leaky gut plays a huge role, but since I’m so sensitive to certain foods during hive periods, I’m at a loss as to what to focus on healing first.
