You shouldn’t need to add an additional supplement if you are taking the adrenal support supplement

It was a very high adrenaline situation. Once we got the all clear and came out of the shelter and got settled I started feeling my legs tighten up and shooting pain in my lower back and down my legs then my arms started aching followed by every other inch of my body. I grew EXTREMELY tired and had to lay down. My voice went from normal or extremely groggy (like a tired smoker) . . . I assume I had an adrenaline crash. I’m still feeling the after effects this morning. . . soreness, fatigue etc. What can I do to prevent a crash like this from happening again? I already eat well and exercise regularly. I have had various AI diseases thrown at me but everything has been so conflicting over the years I don’t know what to believe. I changed my diet and lifestyle and noticed great results but still have issues from time to time. No medication any longer. . . I felt worse when I was on it.

I truly Appreciate your wealth of knowledge and your refreshing approach on wellness.

I resonate with your clear and concise communication style, simple yet strait forward, Thank U.

Gr8 info on adrenals in general, however looking 4 specific protocol for Extreme adrenal exhaustion, self diagnosed of course.
I believe its epidemic ; )

I was never a caffeine consumer as coffee makes me irritable and edgy and never needed it.
But now I cannot function without a stimulant. Coke cola was working short term but fizzled out, along with my precious minerals I learned, so no longer an option, thankfully!

I am in dire need of a reliable and effective stimulant that works with my body rather than against it, as my lifestyle and dietary changes although healthy still leave me depleted and drained of NRG.
My zippy D do-da disappeared long ago, and I could sleep all day and night with no recharge whatsoever.

How does one make cortisol?

Please advise on what you would suggest to provide NRG 2 function thru the day?

I realize I may also b low in iron and possibly B12, supplements are in my routine but take time to work and I need something for nrg today and everyday, not a quick fix, but an NRG assistant…….

would a B12 shot help me with quicker NRG?

A Coffee substitute more effective than green tea would be helpful…..

I heard licorice but not the candy kind, how does that work?

Thank U 4 sharing & caring,

looking forward to your response

Blessings ~

I feel my cortisol just collapsed….the well has run dry

Is there any hope to get cortisol pumping again???

Much

Make sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night, cut out sugars and grains of your diet, try using grapefruit essential oil, and try a licorice supplement.

One question, though: I experience extreme water retention whenever I eat coconut oil, butter, chia seeds, bone broth (from chicken) and some other whole foods generally considered healthy. Does this have anything to do with adrenal fatigue?

Veronica, did you use the liquid or the tea? How long did it take to start feeling better? Like you, I have abused my body for years and have felt awful for years with no result. I just recently started looking into adrenal fatigue and it sounds exactly like what I have. But still unsure how to fix it.

This article states that adrenal insufficiency is mistak8ngly thought to be caused by autoimmune disease but instead is caused by having a stressful lifestyle. Please note that the most common cause of adrenal insufficiency is autoimmune disease (check the Mayo Centre website). This article implies that extreme adrenal fatigue and adrenal insufficiency can be cured by lifestyle changes. Please note that there are no known cases of recovery from primary adrenal insufficiency and the treatment is lifelong steroids (again your own reference to the Mayo Centre should clarify this). Please also note that adrenal fatigue is not a recognised medical condition. Articles like this lead to misconceptions in the public that Addison’s Disease is caused by stress and cured by lifestyle changes. This is simply not backed by research or experiences of people with the autoimmune disease. Articles like this can contribute to people with Addison’s Disease stopping their medications and this leads to swift death for us.

I take a levothyroxine pill (100 mg) once a day, blood test are normal range but have terrible days of just nodding off! The minute I sit down, especially at a computer I am nodding off, always have heavy eye lids. I need a caffeine pill (200 mg Mental Alertness/Wake up pill) to function out of that slump. I try really hard not to use them when doing desk work, but need for concentration. If I am moving around no problem, no need for them. I have gotten Dr. Axes B Vitamin supplement to see if that will help, I guess II have not been on long enough yet! I am really drained & need some idea of what to test for to get a handle on mixed up hormones or whatever is going on! I tested positive for gluten sensitivity (my mom has celiac sprue), so trying to stay away from all grains. Thanks Nadine

Someone I know recommended that I try this particular not so common supplement called Chaga Charge that is supposed to give your body everything it needs to rebuild the adrenals on its own, including maca, mushroom extract and SOD, so I started taking it and gradually but surely, I noticed I was starting to feel a lot better, and my hair loss even slowed down and then stopped which is a sure sign of the adrenals being healed. Another sign was that I feel warmer now, just in general, as opposed to always feeling cold like I did before. I also stopped eating sugar because I don’t crave it anymore and this probably makes me feel better too. Anyways, it really helped me, so maybe this can help others too.

Hi Liz. Just to give you some more feedback on the green tea – I really love green tea and didn’t want to give it up, but I found that every time I had it I would crash soon afterwards and my adrenals would physically ache. So definitely listen to your body on this one. If you love the taste like me there is always decaf :)

I am 27 years old and have been struggling with adrenal fatigue for 18 months, although realistically it has been an issue for the past 10 years, and came to a head about 18 months ago. I think the biggest challenge for me is learning to rest and reduce stress. You can be doing everything else properly, but if you’re still in a state of chronic anxiety and stress you will not get better. I’m pretty sure this is why it has taken me so long to make minimal progress. I was also diagnosed with Hypothyroidism when I was 15 after anorexia in my early teens. I am on T3, D3, Folic Acid, Hydrocortisone, as well as adrenal glandular and herbal supplements (ginseng, rhodiola, licorice). I have had to stop working the past month due to extreme tiredness (I feel drugged). Thankfully I have a beautiful supportive family, but the whole experience of going from being a super achiever/perfectionist to this ‘blob’ can be pretty demoralising. Also I have put on 10kg since I ‘crashed’ even though I eat only healthy whole foods and between 1200-1300 cals/day. Has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, how long did it take you to get better, and also to lose the weight? Thank you again for talking about this.

Some people do well with green tea some do not. Listen to your body on it. You can always cut it out and add it back in later on after you have given your adrenals time to rest. Krill oil and fish oil will have the same effect on your gallbladder. I personally like fish oil more and consume that.

Is Krill oil a comparable substitute for fish oil -we have burping up issues with fish oil [and truthfully the krill at times also]. I have gallbladder issues so can’t handle too much fat at one time, so the krill is more manageable. Is there perhaps another option that would give me the benefits of fish/krill oil & be easier on the digestive system/gallbladder?

Sherrie, I had Lyme for about 14 years before I was finally diagnosed. I was told by several that there was nothing wrong with me, it was all in my head; my shampoo was the problem and to use baby shampoo … blah, blah, blah. I have a wonderful doctor in Hendersonville, TN who is a naturopath and a Lyme literate medical doctor (LLMD). He treated me with the Borrelia series therapy made by Deseret Biologicals. It was hard to get through, but it works. I’ve been in treatment for three years now and am a great deal better. I had Lyme so long that it caused a lot of damage, so now some of my body systems are still healing, especially my thyroid and adrenals. I also had mercury poisoning, heavy metals poisoning, and Candida. I only had one co-infection, Bartonella. The anxiety caused by Lyme is horrible. You might want to consider the possibility of having Candida. Lyme feeds off Candida, and Candida causes weight gain, sleep problems such as insomnia, and fatigue. Wishing you the best!

My friend sent me your website today, and I am greatful. Your info is way simpler than so many others I have encountered. I started doing pumpkin quinoa w/pecans for breakfast, green smoothies for lunch and a balanced early dinner about 5 months ago. In the evenings, I have been taking a gaba supplement called Kavinace, and I use DoTerra’s Elevation oil, 6 drops rubbed over my adrenals, and a moist heat pack over it for a while. After 3 months, I no longer needed my herbs for hot flashes, I was sleeping better and feeling better, in spite of commuting to care for my grandchildren daily during an ugly divorce. Best results I have found, and I have been dealing with this for 6 years now. Had a pretty hefty setback about a month ago and let all those good habits go. Starting over again, but feeling encouraged.

Although nothing works for everyone, diet is THE biggie. Keep on trying things and keep good records about what works for you. THERE IS HOPE!!!

What can I do? My husbands makes green drinks with flax seed, sesame seed, chic seeds, spinach, collard greens apples and juice. I want to get my thyroid, blood and liver working top shape. I would love some direction.

Bless you,
Cindy
