Holy Basil is full of many important nutrients. It has both vitamin A and C, calcium, zinc, iron and chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is full of antioxidants which hold a load of different benefits.


Anxiety and stress – It can reduce stress through multiple means. It helps with increased endurance, less sleep problems, and less forgetfulness. It helps keep the mind clear to better cope with stress. Studies have shown people have felt less stressed, anxious, and depressed. People also reported feeling more social. It also lowered stress induced cholesterol.

Blood Pressure – there are active compounds in holy basil that lower blood pressure and help with insulin resistance.

Weight loss – Holy basil has been used to help lower weight. It helps increase brown adipose tissue level which studies have shown can help in weight loss.

Overall Health – There are so many benefits from this ingredient. It’s been shown to be an antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory. It also has been used as an analgesic/pain killer. Some even used it after surgery for healing and protection for the wound.

Cancer – Studies have even shown some protection against cancer by reducing cancerous cells.
