It’s that time again for an update on my life. I’m sure you all are on the very edge of your seats to hear about my extremely intense, exciting daily life. Are my words dripping with sarcasm enough? Hey, what can I say? I’m doing it to make sure I keep working hard to better myself and have an accountability for it. I am ready to do whatever I can to be my best self. Okay so let’s see where I am at with a few things.
New Goal –
Intermittent Fasting – I have done a lot of research on intermittent fasting the last couple weeks. I have heard a lot of people talk about it and that it can yield a lot of health benefits and assist in weight loss. I decided I wanted to experiment with it before I get to my goal weight. I want to see if it encourages some weight loss and if it seems like a possible longer-term option. To me it seems simpler to only have to worry about food during a short span of hours. So, I’m partially going with the warrior diet. I will fast for 20 hours and eat for 4 hours. However, I don’t want to do a huge calorie deficit. This means that I am eating some more healthy but higher calorie options. Such as avocado and nuts, things I didn’t have that often before. If I use up more healthy calories without becoming ridiculously full, I think it would be a more successful test.
Short Term Goals
Squat Challenge – So this started as a new personal goal and turned into a February challenge invitation to everyone. I was excited to have quite a few people jump on it. I had even more people react to my invitation across multiple social media platforms. I don’t know if that means they are just encouraging me, or if they have been joining in as well. If you have joined in on the challenge, comment and let me know how it’s been going! If you joined and missed a couple days, that’s no reason to stop and give up. Start up again right now!
I have successfully completed 8 days of squats so far. The first time I did 100 straight. I have done that maybe two or three times total but for the most part I’ve split it into two sets of 50. It works really well for now, especially since I pair it with my two sets of pushups. I’ve got 22 more days to go!
Push-ups – Oh yuck!!! This one is getting difficult. I have been doing 22 push-ups twice a day for the last three days. However, I am fighting to get them in! I am going to keep at it. I will do my very best, but I may need to stick to the 22 for an extra week. I may even just increase it by 1 push-up. I’ll get there one step at a time.
Adventures – We were able to go as a family to the local aquarium. The boys enjoyed seeing the animals and playing at the playground there. I have also been taking the boys on walks. We walked to a playground, walked to grandma’s house, and walked home from a local grocery store while the boys ate donuts that they purchased with some change out of their piggy banks. It’s been nice to just get out of the house when we haven’t had a car to use while my husband is at work.

Crane and Tri-pod – I can officially do the tri-pod headstand every time I try. I can hold it for as long as I want. I am working on trying to straighten up completely. Right now, I think I have a slight tilt. I want to straighten it out and keep my balance. I can hold the crane pose for 5 to 6 seconds before I tilt over. My goal is to get to 15 seconds at least.
Long Term Goals – I am not going to bring this up every week. Since the goals are long term, they are not going to have as much to say. I’ll mention them when there is progress to be mentioned.
How are you doing with your goals? What kind of goals are you working towards.
